Description

Portrait of Frances Few Christie Phelps at the age of five. She was one of the first female graduates of Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She was the daughter of Philips Phelps, Jr. and the wife of John Otte. She stands with one arm resting on a tufted-top table that has fringe on it. She wears a plaid skirt, white long-sleeve top, and boots. Her hair is pulled back.
