Description

Portrait of five (5) Japanese students who attended Hope College in the 1870s. They gathered in Japan for a memorial service after learning of the death of Philip Phelps, Jr., who brought them to Hope College. A framed photograph of Phelps is on a table in the middle of the students. Two students stand behind the table and three sit to the side and in front of the table.
