Description
Portrait of Thomas De Witt, who was a pastor in the New York Collegiate Church from 1827-74. He was a respected friend of Albertus C. Van Raalte and promoter of the Holland Colony. He wears a dark suit with white shirt and white necktie. One hand rests on the side of his face, which is propped up by his elbow leaning on a book on a table. Below the image it says, "Photograph'd by Brady." and "Eng'd by A. H. Ritchie." Below that is "Thomas De Witt" written in script, followed by "Senior Pastor of the Collegiate Church".
