An editorial/article on Teunis Keppel in the Holland City News, July 4, 1896, Gerrit VanSchelven, editor. I assume that Van Schelven wrote the article. He makes comments about A.C.V.R. including the following: "Dr. Van Raalte was THE leader of his people. He felt his responsibility and never evinced any longing to share this with any one. Nevertheless he needed assistance. By reason of the newness of things, isolation of locality, foreign tongue, and absolute unacquaintance with everthing that pertained to their new condition..." Hence Teunis Keppel was a key person in the community also.
