Rev. Albertus C. Van Raalte received a letter of gratitude from a person named Visscher. The person's first initial is written with such a flourish that it is indecipherable. Visscher expressed thanks for having had Van Raalte for his/her catechism teacher. This person will always regard him as his/her "beloved & honored pastor." The writer is also very award of the great suffering of Mrs. Van Raalte.
The original documents are held in the Albertus C. Van Raalte Collection (M300) or the Dirk B.K. Van Raalte Collection (M301) in Heritage Hall, Hekman Library, Calvin University, Grand Rapids, MI. The Van Raalte material in Heritage Hall has since been reorganized.
