A first draft of a document composed by Rev. Albertus C. Van Raalte to "The Hon: J.S. Wilson General United States Land Commissioner, Washington D.C." The document concerns a piece of land apparently owned by Van Raalte. He noted that first a windmill and then a tannery were located on the property. The document is very difficult to read. Van Raalte composed it in English.
The original documents are held in the Albertus C. Van Raalte Collection (M300) or the Dirk B.K. Van Raalte Collection (M301) in Heritage Hall, Hekman Library, Calvin University, Grand Rapids, MI. The Van Raalte material in Heritage Hall has since been reorganized.
