At this meeting of the School Board of the Holland Academy, the good attendance included those of Rev. Philip Phelps Jr. and Dr. Albertus C. Van Raalte. Rev. Christian Vander Veen took the chair in the absence of the president. Henry, the son of Rev. H. G. Klein, was admitted. His father promised to pay $50 a year to cover some expenses. Expenses to attend the academy included the washing and mending of the bedclothes.
