Winner of the 2013 Van Wylen Library Altered Book Award Artists' Statement: In today's world there are 27 million slaves, vanishing in a life of bondage leaving only a statistic. We as consumers perpetuate the slave trade, yet remain ignorant of our involvement. Vanish is a tangible statement showing our own hands are a part of this vanishing act.
