David Michael Tripold is an associate professor at Monmouth University, New York. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey, and a PhD in liturgical studies from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey (2006). He is a nationally recognized choir conductor, voice teacher, organist, and liturgical scholar. He directs Monmouth University’s chamber and concert choirs. In addition, he has been a church organist and choir director for over three decades. The collection includes the PhD dissertation of David Michael Tripold from Drew University, titled “The Development and Role of Choirs in the Worship and Culture of the Dutch Reformed Church in America, 1785-1860.” The dissertation eventually became a book titled Sing to the Lord a New Song: Choirs in the Worship and Culture of the Dutch Reformed Church in America (2012).
