Minister of the RCA and professor at Western Theological Seminary, 1895-1904. Born in Zontkamp, the Netherlands, 1836. A.B. from Rutgers College, 1860, and New Brunswick Theological Seminary, 1863; D.D. from Heidelberg University and Hope, 1890. Served the churches of Cuddebackville, New York, 1863-1866; First, Pella, Iowa, 1866-1884; Second, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 1884-1895. The collection consists of bound volumes of class lectures in dogmatic theology, essays on theological topics, and sermons and addresses at his inauguration as Professor of Didactic and Polemic Theology in 1895.
