Howard Van Egmond, the son of an RCA pastor, graduated from Hope College in 1941 and Western Theological Seminary in 1944. He served in pastorates throughout the United States. The collection is divided into the papers of Howard Van Egmond and the papers of his wife, Mildred. Howard Van Egmond’s papers include anniversary booklets, bulletins, and photographs from the churches he served. Much of the collection in devoted to his work at First Reformed Church in Holland, Michigan, after his retirement. Also included are photographs and memorabilia from his college years, information about the Kiwanis Club, of which he was a member, and sermon outlines. Included in Mildred Van Egmond’s collection are files of her Christian Endeavor service, including scrapbooks and photographs, a file containing articles and booklets relating to missions, articles relating to Church Women, and programs from the Triennials held between 1962 and 1992. Also included are Christmas cards and photographs of family members.
