A native of Zeeland, Michigan, Carl Justin Schroeder, Jr. received his A.B. from Hope College in 1953, B.D. from Western Theological Seminary in 1956, S.T.M. from Union Theological Seminary in 1969 and D.Min. from Western Theological Seminary in 1980. He was licensed and ordained by the Classis of Passaic, New York, in 1956 and served as a missionary to Taiwan from 1957-1968 (serving as a presbytery missionary in Taichung from 1960-1963). He also served as a chaplain at Tunghai University in Taiwan from 1964-1968; secretary for Evangelical RPC for the Reformed Church in America (RCA) from 1969-1973; and minister of care for Central Reformed Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 1973-1982. Schroeder has served as clinical member of the AAMFT and is a certified social worker, serving and served as a marriage and family therapist from 1982-1992. The collection contains biographical information, many articles Schroeder has written for The Church Herald and his book Heaven: Rainbow After the Storm (2008). (S)
