A.B. Hope College, 1915. Taught at German Valley Academy until drafted during World War I. Schoon fought in many major battles and was part of the Army of Occupation in Luxembourg. After the war, he received his M.A. in classical languages from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. Minister of the RCA; principal of the Pleasant Prairie Academy, 1924-1946; professor of German, Hope College, 1946-1954. The collection consists of correspondence, sermons, meditations, radio messages, sermons for special occasions (war and peace, Armistice Day, Memorial Day, George Washington’s birthday); and an address, “Importance of Christian Institutions of Learning.” Some materials are in German. Materials also include a photograph, biographical information and college publications.
