The collection contains a CD-ROM and hard copy of “From Poot to Poat: A Dutch American Family History” (2009). These materials document life in the Netherlands and several Dutch communities in America, and the lives of Rev. W. F. Poat and Rev. J. W. Poot (1851- ) from 1880-1904. J. W. Poot was born in the Netherlands on July 1, 1851. After being involved in the Dutch religious turmoil of the late 19th century, J. W. Poot moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan. He served as a pastor in the Reformed Church in America (RCA) in South Blendon, Michigan (1895-1896), Gano (Chicago), Illinois (1896-1898), and Fourth Reformed Church of Pella, Iowa (1898-1899). He was dismissed from the RCA when he became a Lutheran on November 1, 1913.
