Clarence P. Dame was born in Broek, the Netherlands, on October 18, 1885. He graduated from Hope College in 1913 and from Western Seminary in 1916. He served in Calvary Reformed Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 1916 to 1918; Trinity Reformed Church of Holland, Michigan from 1918 to 1930; Unity Reformed Church of Muskegon, Michigan, from 1930 to 1936; Bethany Reformed Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 1936 to 1943; Second Reformed Church of Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1936 to 1943; and in Allegan from 1959 to 1963. The collection includes published articles by Dame, biographical information, correspondence about, to and from him, notes on theological subjects, radio messages delivered on the Temple Time program, notes taken while he was a student at Western Theological Seminary, and his sermons, which make up the bulk of the collection.
