Artists' Statement: Falling at 54 meters per second, the life of a skydiver depends on his parachute's deployment. I went to work to save this book's life. After some careful math, cutting, and sewing, the parachute was constructed. By sewing pokcets into each seam along the parachute, I was able to thread it with I2 gauge aluminum jewelry metal to hold its shape. I then drilled two holes through the book's cover and pages and inserted the aluminum, creating a sturdy base. After many hours of trial and error, this artist book was complete.'
