Artists' Statement: "The idea behind having needles emerge from the cover of the book is to present another plane or dimension to the viewer. A subtler element is the embroidery on the cover; the thread I used is matched to the colors found within the image for an understated effect. The netting I placed asymmetrically, to throw off the balance of the cover. The concept is a nontraditional view of a traditional pastime."
